What's the color of the sun?

Posted by Rohan Baidya on June 1, 2009 at 12:30 AM

The quesion may seem pretty easy to answer as it looks but it has some profound mystries.

Background

I know a lot either say, Yellow or White, Red or Orange. I would probably say, "Greenish - Blue". This may look unusual, and it is unusual. It is that, if you answer it Yellow, or white or any of them, people think that you are normal but speaking of "green or blue" make people tug their hair.

Evidence:

As you can have a look at the solar irradiance, you can see that the highest energy of light is received between the range of 469 and 555 nm which is probably the greenish blue color in which it is much more green. Like this as we have proved that the color of the sun is green but still is on a controversy.

Conclusion

From now on, if any smartypant geek comes and ask you, "What is the color of the sun?", then give it a tight punch on the face and say, "it's green!".
